Biography

Jean was born in November 21, 1795, and baptized on January 3, 1796, the son of Charles McLaughlin and Anne LeBreton of Caraquet Parish, New Brunswick[1] [2]

On January 8, 1821, he married Isabelle Saulnier the daughter of Joseph Saulnier and Felicite Bastarache of Tracadie[3] [4], and their children included :

  1. Anne, a twin, born November 5, 1821 and baptized on January 28, 1822[5]
  2. Jacques (James), a twin, born November 5, 1821 and baptized on January 28, 1822[5], who married Elizabeth Robinson
  3. Jean, born in late 1823, and baptized on February 15, 1824[6]
  4. Marie Isabelle, a twin, born December 3, 1825 and baptized on January 6, 1862[7]
  5. Charles, a twin, born December 3, 1825 and baptized on January 6, 1862[7]
  6. Julie, a twin, born January 13, 1827 and baptized on March 16, 1828[8] , who died young
  7. Marie, a twin, born January 13, 1827 and baptized on March 16, 1828[8]
  8. Pierre, born January 20, 1830 and baptized on March 3[9], who married Rosanne Basque
  9. Julie, born February 3, and baptized on April 1, 1832[10], who married François-Exavier Basque
  10. possibly others

He passed away August 6, 1878, and was buried on August 8[11]
