Duncan McLeran[1] was born in 1812 and died 10 February 1895. He married by bond dated 18 July 1840 Charlotte Autery (also Autry), daughter of Newsom Autry and Nancy Pharis. Eleven children.

Buried in Duncan McLaurin Cemetary, Beard, Cumberland County, North Carolina

1850 in Flea Hill Township where Duncan "McLaurin" is listed as a farmer with $2050 in real estate and $4760 in personal property.

1860 Census of the Eastern Division of Cumberland County and with $700 in real estate and $1200 in personal property.

1870 Census of Flea Hill Township (Dwelling 320). They are listed in the 1880 Census of Flea Hill Township (Dwelling 196) with four of their children.

--Daniel James McLaurin was born 31 December 1840 and died 26 April 1917 in Flea Hill Township. He married 23 December 1868. Pheby Eliza Culbreth daughter of Isaac Culbreth and Mary Ann Maxwell. Seven children.

--Virginia C. McLaurin was born 17 October 1842 and died 2 November 1927 in Flea Hill Township. She married 7 March 1866 by bond John A. McLaurin son of John W. McLeran and Sylvania Butler.

--John McLaurin was born 9 February 1847 and died 21 September 1916 in Flea Hill Township. He married 25 February 1869 Jane Elizabeth Holmes, daughter of John Holmes and Jennet Armstrong. Eight children

--Duncan McLaurin. Jr. was born 12 January 1844 and died 18 November 1920 in Flea Hill Township. He married 19 February 1868 Sophia E. Culbreth daughter of Isaac Culbreth and Mary Ann Maxwell. Seven children.

--Love McLaurin was born 25 November 1848 and died 17 March 1934 in East-over Township. He married 17 February 1870° Annie Elizabeth Geddie, daughter of Dougald Geddie and Sarah Baker. Eight children. ++David McLaurin was born 2 October 1851 and died 12 December 1920 in Pearces Mill Township. He married 30 January 1879. Mary Catherine Geddie, daughter of Dougald Geddie and Sarah Baker. Six children.

--Sarah Eliza McLaurin was born 10 October 1853 and died 1 September 1945 in Eastover Township. She did not marry. She was living with her brother Daniel in 1900. She is buried at Salem United Methodist Church.

--Nancy E. McLaurin was born 7 January 1856 and died 25 November 1920n in Flea Hill Township. She married Alexander McDuffie Cain, son of Samuel R. Cain and Nancy E. Jarrett.Eight children.

--Charlotte McLaurin was born 12 February 1858 and died 19 January 1891. She is buried in the Duncan McLaurin Family Cemetery.

--Elizabeth A. McLaurin was born 18 April I860 and died 9 January 1891?. "Betsey" is buried in the Duncan McLaurin Family Cemetery.

--Stephen James McLaurin was born 27 August 1862 and died 16 February 1942 in Eastover Township. He married 24 February 1892 Mary Barbara Crumpler daughter of Marshal B. Crumpler and Eliza J. Butler. Six children. Buried in Duncan McLaurin Cemetary, Beard, Cumberland County, North Carolina
