Biography

MCLELLAN, Eugene (Gene) of Bay City, Michigan. Mr. McLellan passed away early Wednesday morning July 29, 2009 at Brian's House. Age 90 years. He was born October 18, 1918 in Bay City and has resided here all of his life. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, a former member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge # 88, graduated from St. Mary's High School and served with the United States Navy. Gene retired from the Bay City Fire Department as the Assistant Fire Chief and enjoyed golfing, bowling, hunting, fishing and enjoyed the outdoors.

On April 29, 1950 he married the former Marjorie Nelson at St. Mary's Catholic Church and she survives his passing along with six children and their spouses: Debra McLellan of Plantation, FL, James (Jody) McLellan of Montrose, MI, Richard McLellan of Bay City, Charles McLellan of Tulsa, OK, Janet (James) Bankey of Madison Heights, MI and Patricia (Bryn) Wall of Midland; three grandchildren: Eric Sheneman, Nikki Wall and Arika Wall; one great grandchild Keaton Yoder; one brother Fred McLellan; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Anna (Blondin) and John McLellan; four brothers and two sisters.

A Memorial Mass will take place Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rite of Committal Service following in St. Patrick's Cemetery. At the request of Mr. McLellan Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors on Friday at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. and until the time of services. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial cards for Holy Trinity Catholic Church will be available at the funeral home.
