George McLellan was born in 1783 in Thomaston, Lincoln County (became Knox Co. in 1860), in the Maine District of the state of Massachusetts, USA. His father was Thomas McLellan Sr. and his mother was Hannah (Dyer) McLellan.
On Valentine's Day (Feb. 14), 1813, Captain George McLellan married Deborah Weed, in Thomaston, Lincoln, Maine. The couple lived in Thomaston and had 3 daughters:[1]
Eliza C. McLellan, b: 1814 in Thomaston, Lincoln, Maine
Nancy B. McLellan, b: 13 March 1818 in Thomaston, Lincoln, ME
Emeline Titcomb McLellan, b: 14 July 1820 in Thomaston, Lincoln, Maine Dist., Massachusetts, USA
Sea Captain George McLellan died on November 12, 1828, and was buried in the Village Cemetery, Thomaston, Lincoln County, Maine Dist., Massachusetts, USA.[2]
His wife survived his passing. She remarried to Captain Isaac McLellan, a cousin of her late husband, in February 1830 in Thomaston, Maine.
