Biography

Philip, son of Ralph McLellan & Reta East, was born on 29 July 1920 in Auburn, De Kalb, Indiana, United States.^[1]

Phillip was a Friend (Quaker)

Philip lived with his family in South Bend, St. Joseph, Indiana, United States in 1926 and moved to Quincy, Adams, Illinios, United States about 1929. ^[2]

In the 1930 census Philip (age 9) was the youngest son of Ralph McLellan in Davenport, Scott, Iowa, United States.^[3]

In the 1940 census Philip (age 19) was the single son of Reta McLellan in Haverford, Delaware, Pennsylvania who had accompanied him to college.^[4]

Phil was at school in 1942 at Haverford College in Haverford, Pennsylvania, United States as a Sociology major.^[5]

Philip was raised as a Quaker (friend), so he concientiously objected to fighting in World War II. As a result, Philip participated in the Civilian Public Service for his service, participating in several different programs from 4 February 1943 - 9 May 1946. ^[6]

Philip married Hope Armitage in about 1946 in Concord , New Hampshire, United States.^[7]

In the 1950 census Phillip (age 29), Salesman (Investment company), was the married head of household, with his family at Brewster Estate in Dublin, Cheshire, New Hampshire, United States.^[8]

Philip died on March 4, 2002 ^[9] and was buried in Birch Lake Cemetery, Calvin Center, Cass County, Michigan, United States with a death date of 2002.^[10]
