Biography

Theodore S. McLellan was born 12 December 1811 in Brunswick, Cumberland, Maine. [1]

He was the son of Capt. Joseph McLellan, Jr. and Rebecca Stone, who married in 1788 in Portland, Maine. Theodore was the youngest of their eleven children. He married Mary Jane Owen in 1842, and they had three children: Charlotte, 1844-1845; Charles Theodore, 1846-1937; and Mary Louise, 1850. Theodore died in 1905 in Brunswick, Maine. [2]

Theodore L. (S.) McLellan, 93, a widowed retiree, died of valvular disease of the heart, on 9 July 1905 in Brunswick, Maine. He was born in Gray, Maine, about 1812, the son of Joseph McLellan, a sea captain, born in Portland, Maine; and Rebecca Stone, born in Brunswick, Maine. [9] He was buried at Pine Grove Cemetery, Brunswick, Cumberland, Maine (Aisle C, Lot 25), with his wife, Mary J. (1822-1904), and their daughter, Charlotte Elizabeth (died 8 September 1815, at 10 months, thirteen days). [10] [11]

Theodore Stone McLellan, 1811-1905, is buried at Pine Grove Cemetery, Brunswick, Maine. Among his family buried there are his parents; his wife; her parents and grandparents (her grandfather was a Revolutionary War veteran); five siblings; and a daughter, Charlotte Elizabeth. [12]
