Biography
William McLellan was born on 14 May 1782 in Gorham, Maine. His parents were Cary McLellan and Eunice (Elder) McLellan[1].
He married Mehitable Harmon on 14 July 1807 in Gorham[2]. They had eight children[3]:
- 1. Mary C., born 16 Jul 1808; married Samuel Allen
- 2. Hugh, born 8 Oct 1811; married Abigail Norton
- 3. William, born 26 Feb 1813; married Mary Meserve
- 4. John C., born 6 May 1815; married Winifred Shannon
- 5. Eunice S., born 25 Nov 1818; married Henry Harmon
- 6. Samuel E., born 6 Jun 1821; married 1st Sarah Babb, 2nd Rosabel Bacon
- 7. Ishmael H., born 2 May 1824
- 8. Arthur M., born 2 Mar 1827; married 1st Paulina Atkinson, 2nd Grace Lord
William passed away on 14 August 1833 in Gorham[4] and is buried in Eastern Cemetery.
