The family emigrated to Canterbury, New Zealand under the Assisted Immigration program, aboard the Westland arriving 21 March 1880. ^[2]

In Ireland, the family had spelt the name as McClenaghan (including on Elizabeth's birth record), but the variation McLenaghan was used in New Zealand.

She passed away 19 April 1895 age 16. ^[3] The funeral was 21 April 1895 to Addington Cemetery. ^{[4] [5]}
