Biography

Alexander was named as the father of John McLennan on the latter's 1847 birth record. According to the 1851 Census, Alexander was a "coachman to a gentleman" so it is likely he and his wife were living in Watten at the time of John's birth for this reason. The family were living in Edinburgh at this time.
