Biography

Sir Lionel McMahon, 4th Bt. was born on 30 June 1856. He was the son of Sir Beresford Burston McMahon, 2nd Bt. and Maria Catherine Bateson. He married Anne Cecilia Austin-Cooke on 29 August 1888. He died on 20 February 1926 at age 69, without issue.

He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 58th Regiment. He fought in the Zulu War in 1879. He was admitted to Inner Temple entitled to practise as a barrister. He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Tyrone. He succeeded as the 4th Baronet McMahon, of Dublin [U.K., 1815] on 3 June 1905. He held the office of High Sheriff of County Tyrone in 1914.

On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.
