Biography

Mortagh McMahon was born in Clonina, County Clare, Ireland. He was the eldest son of Thomas McMahon and Eliza Meade.

He married Mary Ellen McDonnell^[1] in 1750.

Mortagh and Mary had three sons and a daughter:

1. Thomas McMahon died unmarried
2. Charles McMahon died unmarried
3. Murtagh McMahon died unmarried
4. Margaret McMahon m Daniel O'Donoghue, The O'Donoghue of The Glens, County Kerry^[1]

He died in 1808 at Clonina.
