Catherine McMaster was born in 1869 in Brisbane, Queensland (Australia). She was the third daughter of John McMaster and Catherine McInnes.
Catherine married John Forsyth, who would later become a Major General, on 10th November 1897 in a Brisbane Wesleyan Methodist church. [1] After having five children, they moved south to Hawthorn, Victoria; in 1907-08:
Having been widowed for 27 years, Catherine passed away aged 87 years in 1956 in Hawthorn. [2] She was survived by her three spinster daughters.
