Jane was born about 1780. She was the daughter of John McMichael and Mary Unknown. She passed away about 1849.
There are two possible scenarios: 1. There are two Jane McMichael's, one married William Piper and one married John Piper (this seems highly unlikely), or 2. the person who copied down the marriage index in Greene Co., GA made an error copying the marriage of Wm Piper and Jane McMichael and it should have been recorded as "John Piper and Jane McMichael" being married. The second scenario is the best because there is some evidence of this; it lists "Wm Piper" as the voucher of the marriage. All other marriages in the book say "self" when a person being married does the voucher. So the evidence indicates there is only one Jane McMichael and she married John Piper not William Piper. Most likely, this is a record error and this marriage does NOT exist.
