Biography

Maria Z McMillan was born in Mercer County, Pennsylvania 25 September 1835,^[1] the daughter of John McMillan and Catharine Nelson.^[2]

She married

1. Thomas Burk and they had three daughters before he died at Vicksburg in 1863. Later, she married
2. Abijah Pitkins Thomas; they had five daughters and two sons before the two of them passed away, both in or near Salem, Oregon.^{[3][4][5][6][7]}

Maria died of breast cancer in 1918.^{[8][9][10][11]}
