Biography

Robert was born in 1902. ^[1] He is the son of William McMullan and Delia Cahill.

In the 1905 New Jersey State Census ^[2] Robert is age 2 in Bergen County, New Jersey, with his parents Delia and William, and four siblings: Marie (age 7), John (age 6), Roselea (age 4) and William (age 1). The 1910 census ^[3] shows Robert living in Hackensack Ward 5, Bergen, New Jersey with his parents and six siblings. In the 1915 New Jersey State Census ^[4] Robert (age 11) is with his family in Hackensack, New Barbadoes Township, 5 ward, Bergen, New Jersey with three additional siblings: Edward (age 7), Thomas (age 3) and Dorothy (age 2). In the 1920 census ^[5] the family is in Jersey City Ward 8, Hudson, New Jersey and a new sibling, Catherine (age 4), has been added. In this census Robert's occupation is listed as Mail Clerk at a Railroad Terminal.

In the 1940 census ^[6] Robert is 38 and living with his mother and two younger brothers, William and Edward.

Robert enlisted in the Army on 17 Oct 1942. ^[7] His civilian occupation is categorized as "foremen, transportation, communications, and utilities." He died a few months later at Fort Hood, Texas by accident. ^[8]
