Biography

Theodosius was born in about 1778, being 63 at the time of the 1841 Census. His son's marriage certificate lists him as a bookseller. He died sometime in the third quarter of 1850.

Banns for his marriage to Agnes Deas were read on 31 Aug 1801. In 1849 he married Mary Dempsey.

The 1841 Census lists him as living at 17 Well's Row, Islington, London with the occupation of 'book seller'. Living in the same household is a clerk and his wife and their daughter, an apprentice. The household also includes his second wife, Mary McMillan, aged 55, and Jane Deas, 63, presumably a relative of of his first wife, Agnes Deas.

Notes

There is a possibility that Theodore McMillan, baptised in the parish of Edinburgh on 11 Mar 1778 and born in 1778, is the same person mentioned in the census records of 1841 as Theodosius was born in Scotland in that year.
