Obituary
GASTONIA - Homer E. "Mac" McMillan, 80, passed away Nov. 10, 2011, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 29, 1931, in Cherokee County, son of the late Joe McMillan and Delia Beaver Buchanan.
Mr. McMillan was a member of Charity Baptist Church, Gastonia.
A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Monday at Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Roger Overton.
The family will receive friends 6 to 7 p.m. Monday prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be private.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Veda McMillan of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Verlinda McMillan of Kings Mountain; daughter, Rhonda Welborn of Gastonia; sisters and brother-in-law, Edith and Earl Mincey of Gastonia, Rene Morris of Gastonia; 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: son, Randy McMillan; daughter, Deborah Mathis.
In honor of Mr. McMillan, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 6000 Fairview Rd., Suite 200, Charlotte, NC 28210.
