James McMillan was baptised on 16 February 1824 at Inch, Wigtownshire, Scotland, the son of David McMillan.[1] He married Mary Couts of Stranraer on 18 March 1852.[2] James was still living in 1891 when he was enumerated in the census of 04 April, residing on South Strand Street in Stranraer.[3]
