Anne had fourteen children, including at least three who died as infants. One of these, apparently a twin born before term and not surviving. She died between the 1851 and 1861 censuses
Edith Edwards reports that Anne was the daughter of an army officer who died in the West Indies from yellow fever. She may have been born there. Her mother travelled (back) to England with her. They were living in Streatham when John WIlliams Edwards was courting her. He used to go to see her with pistols in his belt and she always bade him an anxious goodbye, for those were days of highwaymen'.
Anne married John Williams Edwards on 21 March 1805 in St Mary, Lambeth, Lambeth, England.[1]
In the 1851 census John (age 78) was a "retired leather facter" living at Church Street West in Croydon, Surrey, England. He lived with his wife Ann (age 70), unemployed son George (age 41), daughter Ellen (age 32, governess), daughter Catherine (age 25, annuitant), a cook and housemaid.[2]
The date of birth is estimated from her reported age in the 1851 census. The death records is from assumed age at death and being in Croydon
