Biography

In 1850 he lived with his parents, Jesse and Anna in Pennsylvania. His sisters and brothers were

Mary McMullin 9
Ellen McMullin 7
Citty ann McMullin 6
William McMullin 4
George McMullin 1

Military Service 26 May 1864 Lancaster County, PA.

Mustered in as a Private to the 9th Penn Calvary Company, Lochie Calvary, G. Captured Apr 21, 1865 and mustered out with his company on July 18, 1865. He served for one year, one month an 13 days.

Listed as an "Army invalid" on his Army Pension card. He drew a pension for his service in the civil war (Union) from 1907-1919.

He was taken Prisoner on Oct 15, 1864. [1]

In 1870 he lived with his wife, Sarah and son Chester. Chester was 4 months old. Chester was not on the 1880 census so I have to assume that he didn't make it to adulthood.

in 1880 he lived with his wife, Sarah, son William age 7, son Jessie age 3, and son Clayton, my grandfather, age 10 months.

In 1900 William lived with his wife, Sarah, his daughter Minnie age 18, his son Burton, age 15, his granddaughter Irene age 9 months, and who I assume is his sister-in-law Mary Davis, age 61. Mary is listed as a border, but her parents were born in the same states, which make me assume that she was Williams wife, Sarah's, sister. I might be wrong.

William was listed as a day laborer in the 1900 census and was 53 years old.

In the 1910 census William was listed as blind, a survivor of the Union Army in the civil war and married 41 years. He was living with Sarah and their granddaughter, Irene, who was 10 years old.

William died February 5, 1919, in Carlisle Township, Lorain County, Ohio.[2] He was buried at Butternut Ridge Cemetery, Eaton, Lorain County, Ohio, USA.[3]
