Biography

Ellen McNabb was born in Ireland.

Ellen McNabb was living in Pennsylvania by 1926.

Ellen was born 18 or 19 Dec 1880 in Dooish, County Tyrone. She was the daughter of Thomas McNabb and Mary McMenamin. ^{[1] [2]}

As of 1901 she was a seamstress living with parents in Dooish.^[3]

In 1910 she visited Philadelphia, PA, United States as a non-immigrating servant.^[4] (This explains her absence from the 1911 Ireland census).

In 1913 she emigrated to the United States, arriving at New York City on 14 Sep 1913 abord the Caledonia. ^[5]

In 1926 she applied for naturalization as a US Citizen, address 1630 Green St Philadelphia PA. Her description was: white hair, light complexion, 5'11", brown hair, blue eyes. She gave birth year as 1883 here.^[6] This was approved in 1927.

She later visited home again; returning to Philadelphia (4235 Regent St, West Philly PA) on the Caledonia, 31 Aug 1936.^[7]

She passed away due to heart failure on 4 Feb 1943 at the Presbyterian Hospital, Philadelphia. She was unmarried. ^[8]

There's another passenger log for Ellen McNabb, 1906, age 20 to PA; and a 1930 US census for Ellen McNabb, servant, PA, emig 1906, not naturalized. I'm thinking that is a different person.
