Around 1921 he selected some farming land at Baan Baa, not far from Narrabri. This land was purchased from the New South Wales Government and could be paid off by instalments as long as certain conditions were met, for example making improvements to the land. Such land was not always the best farming land.
It appears that Percy left the Narrabri area and moved to Sydney around the end of the 1920s.
