  • Family tree Sourced from Parish records and local memories throughout late 19 th & 20th century from family in North of Scotland and shared with Ming Speirs. Some information is not verified but an initial contributor to the tree was William’s brother, Dr Hew Morrison JP LLD (1850-1935) who, among other things, prepared and had published in 1911 a transcription of the Parish Register of Durness (Sutherland). Hew was Chief Librarian of the Edinburgh Public Library in the early 1900s. He was a friend of Andrew Carnegie and helped Carnegie set up his Carnegie libraries in Scotland. Other contributors included Iain Morrison and Donald Sutherland.
