It seems like Archibald and his brother Duncan may have shared a household in the 1800-1810 census, as Duncan does not appear on his own until 1820, when he was already well into middle-age. Archibald and his wife Elizabeth had started their family by 1814, perhaps prompting Duncan and his wife Mary to begin their own household.

The three females living with them in 1800 seem likely to be sisters.
