Alexander, born in 1906, was the youngest child of Samuel McPherson and Katherine McCaughan.[1][2]
He was past Master of Waterdown Lodge AF&AM #357, a former Reeve of West Flamborough Township, and a member of the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame.
During his lacrosse career, he played on several championship teams and was manager of the Hamilton Tigers in the 1940s.[3]

He died on December 2, 1992, and was buried at Millgrove Municipal Cemetery, Millgrove, Hamilton, Ontario.[4][5]
