24 Nov 1912 • Kellys Plains, , New South Wales, Australia Armidale Express Tuesday Morning 26/11/1912: Death of Mrs. McLennan - That the "old must die, the young may die," has again been exemplified in the decease of Mrs. McLennan, of "Invervanie," Kellys Plains. The old lady passed peacefully away at her residence on Sunday evening after a lengthy illness, aged 81 years. She was the relict of the late Mr. John McLennan, and her decease severs a well-known link with the early pioneering days, of which when in reminiscent vein she could recount many an interesting tale. She was a fine stamp of the true, large-hearted Gael, her character essentially redolent of the splendid traditions of her beloved native land. She leaves many relatives in this district, Mrs. J. Mackay, of Brisbane, Mrs. Roderick McRae, of Fairburn, and Miss K. McLennan being her daughters, and Mr. Duncan McRae of Inverinate, her brother. The interment took place yesterday afternoon, the Rev. H. S. Buntine making many feeling references to his departed churchwoman in the course of the service. The funeral was well attended, Mr. G. Piddington having charge of the obsequies.
