Biography

John was born in 1783. He is the son of John MacRae. He passed away in 1848.

John Mcrae's mother died during childbirth. John moved to Glengarry County with his father (John Macrae) where he married Isabel Chisholm, daughter of Colonel Alexander Chisholm. John and Isabel moved to Montreal, where they lived in Cote de Neige. After marrying Isobel Chisholm, they moved to Glengarry Indian Lands to be among their friends who were already there. Some of their children moved to Manitoba, and then on to British Columbia.

John MacRae married Isabel Chisholm MacRae in 1804.

John MacRae was interred at the Maxville Cemetery, Maxville, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry United Counties, Ontario, Canada.[1]
