Biography

William Chambers McShan was born on June 19, 1886 in Montgomery County, Texas.^[1][2] He was the son of Andrew McShan and Angaline (Lunn) MCGinnis].

He married Ida Cornelia Chapman (1891-1962) on July 3, 1906 in Montgomery County, Texas. They had at least 9 children.

They lived in Harris County, Texas in 1920, where he worked as Laborer in the Oil FIelds, and Ida was taking care of the home and children, Hester-12, Ottis-9, Oscar-7, and Louise-5.^[3] In 1930, He was working as Fireman for the Oil Fields, and they had 6 children in the home with them, Oscar now 17, Louise-15, Dorothy-8, Bernice-6. Andrew-4, and Truman-1.^[5] He was a Fireman on Drill Rig in Oil fields in 1940.^[8]

He was a Public School Custodian at the time of his death.^[2]

He passed away on May 16, 1975, at the age of 88, in Baytown, Harris County, Texas,^[2] and was buried in the San Jacinto Memorial Park Cemetery in Houston, Harris County, Texas.^[1]
