My husband's 4th great grandmother is Jeannette Nancy Garrett from Virginia, then Kentucky; and a friend'sgreat grandfather is Elijah Garrett from Kentucky, then Illinois. We are encountering conflicting information as we go back in time with the Garrett line.
I wonder if the server is starting to slow down or act up. I was having some of those problems but I was always able to get it to work in the end. I just thought it was my laptop acting up. I'll keep and eye and ear out to see if anybody mentions anything going on like this and keep you informed.
Hi Sandra, I did a great deal of research on John A (Amasa) Garrett and was not able to connnect him to my Garretts at this time. Maybe a clue will surface in the future. Hope you are having a great day.
Hi Sandra, I checked into Monroe. Found James Monroe Garrett. I went back to his father and grandfather. No discoveries, yet, but they seem to have originated from same area. I feel sure that there is some relationship between the Garretts. will continue to look.
Please merge Hay-2484 and Hay 2889. I have provided additional information to the other profile manager that shows she could not have been born in Virginia.
Elizabeth (Hay) Semple was born in 1598. However, Augusta, Virginia was not visited by white people until 1716 & it was not colonized by white people until 1732. Therefore, it would have been impossible for Elizabeth (Hay) Semple , who was born in 1598, to have been born in Augusta, Virginia. She was born in Scotland. Please see the following link to the history of Augusta, Virginia. Thank you.
Please review proposed merge of Lord Hugh Sempill again (Sempill-68). Additional information and sources have been added to the alternate profile (Semple-314) . Plus, if both wives and all children were added to (Semple-314) there would just be more duplicates to be sorted through when both Hugh Sempills were merged into one profile. Please merge. Thank you.
