Rev Harvey Grant McVicker Birth: Dec. 28, 1863 Summerfield Noble County Ohio, USA Death: Dec. 10, 1947 Harvey was the son of Henry or Harvey and Catherine McVicker of Marion Township, Noble County, Ohio. His father was a farmer, but young Harvey attended Waynesburg College in Pennsylvania, Columbia University, Lane Seminary (Lebanon, Tenn.), and Union Theological Seminary -- and became a Prebyterian minister. He married Amy Virginia Higbee, 11 June 1896, at her parents' home in Washington County, PA. I THINK they met at Waynesburg College. His work took them many places, and their children were born in three different states: Ruth V. (McVicker) Hill b.1897 in Maxwell, IA Carl G McVicker b. 1904, West Union, PA Lois (McVicker) Spence b.1906, Virginia, IL In 1918, they were living in Hadley, PA, where their daughter Ruth was married to John Harold Hill; the young couple stayed in Hadley. By 1930, Harvey was serving a church in Conneaut Lake, Crawford County, PA, where son Carl was a music teacher, and daughter Lois was a public school teacher.
