Biography

Stephen (son of Alasdair) was born in PEI... he married Kitty MacGillivray (daughter of John) who was also born in PEI around 1810. They settled at Island View and had twelve children that I know of; Alexander, Mary, Mary Catherine, Catherine, Elizabeth, Eliza, John, Allan, Eliza, Betsy, Ann, and Margaret.^[1]

Stephen McAdam (70) passed away on 28 Oct 1870 at East Bay.^[2] No cause of death, likely attributed to old age. Son John signed off and father is listed as Alexander.

John McAdam (24) is on the 1871 census with wife Catherine (21) and his widowed mother Catherine (61) as well as an unmarried sister Betsy (22). There is also a likely cousin or nephew of the family; Michael McGilivray (3) living with them.^[3]
