Biography

Parlane was born about April or early May 1721 and baptised on 9 May 1721 in Luss, Dunbartonshire, Scotland. His parents were Malcolme McFarlane and Jannet Lenox^[1].

Parlane married a Jean. The children's baptisms all say that her name is Jean McFarlane however it is not known whether that is just her married name or also her maiden name.

Their children were:

1. Andrew Mcfarlane (~1744 - )
2. John McFarlane (~1745 - )^[2]
3. Duncan McFarlane (~1747 - )^[3]
4. Dougald McFarlane (~1750 - )^[4]

Research Notes

There was a source for a marriage in 1800 for Parlane however if the birth information originally provided is correct it is unlikely altho not impossible that he was getting married at 80 years old. Given the Parlane that married to Ann Campbell in 1800 had several children following their marriage it isnt likely that this Parlane is the same one. Therefore the marriage information has been removed.

Malcolm and Janet were estimated to have been born around 1695 based on the year of birth of their eldest child.

Malcolm McFarlane and Janet Lennox are said to have been married however there is no record of this.
