Biography

Donald "Daniel" McINNIS (Daniel) was born 25 March 1773 in Argyleshire, Scotland^[1], and died 12 July 1855 in Greene Co., Mississippi. He married Nancy Ann McLEOD 27 February 1801 in Richmond Co., North Carolina,^[2] daughter of John McLEOD and Mary ROBINSON. She was born October 1777 in Scotland, and died January 1863 in Greene Co., Mississippi.

Based upon son John's obituary it appears that they moved to Mississippi in 1817.

Daniel is on the 1820 census in Jackson Co., MS. along with a Daniel, Sr. and brother Neal. He was on the 1830, 1840, and 1850 census in Greene County. Their property was located at Salem (present day Varnal) which at that time was on the county line of Greene and Jackson Counties, Mississippi.
