Deceased had been an inmate of the institution for sometime. The late Mr. McKenna spent the greater part of his life in this town, and for a lengthy period was associated with the staff of the late

A. E. Thomas and Co., boot manufacturers and tanners. Right from his early days he displayed a particularly keen interest in Friendly Society affairs, and was one of the oldest members of the A.H.C. Guild. In the pharmacy movement he was also very prominent, and held a seat on the directorate for many years. He was a keen follower of the Rugby Union game when that code flourished in Mudgee, and in later years linked up with the Bowling Club. As a mark of respect ,the flag at the green was flying at half mast this week. Deceased is survived by a sorrowing widow, one son (Ken, Taree), and a daughter (Mrs. Walsh, Mudgee), and to the bereaved ones sincere sympathy is extended. The funeral took place from St. Mary's Church on Wednesday, after an impressive service by the Rev. Father Maher, who also officiated at the graveside. Members of the A.H.C. Guild and Bowling Club marched in the sad procession.
