I see you've picked up the profiles of some of my McLean ancestors. I'm surprised there is so little material in the sources, and that I had to create profiles myself for such famous people.

Thanks for the trouble you're taking, but referring to a hidden ancestry tree hardly counts as a source. As you've seen, I expand out the FHL references to readable text myself. I did put in a request on ancestry, but don't expect much relative to what I already got. All the public ancestry trees have the birth date in accordance with the source, and marriage date within a year, some with an additional marriage listed (but no sources).

Thanks for your response.

The discrepancies in (unsourced) Miller-5649 are unusually large. I sourced the birth and marriage information after adopting Miller-57499 as the differences are large enough that I didn't find the earlier existing profile at first. The father has 3 common spellings of his first name, and those profiles are distinguished by different spellings of the grandmother's name. It is set up so that the various grandchildren get different parent and grandparent profiles, a mess which a single merge won't straighten out. I haven't been on wikitree long enough to learn the politics of this. There are rejected matches among parents and grandparents. When I get the option to release a rejected match, I don't know whether I should try that.

My name is David Savage  |I have been steadily working on our Savage -Rose-Hastings-Whiteley family trees line.  I would like to request to be on your trusted list which will soon join our family's as one.  I found a      brickwall that includes my 10th, 11th and 12th generation Great-Grandparents. They are Sir Thomas & Catherine (Hester) Parsons,  William & Margaret (Hoskins) Parsons and Hugh & "Unknown" Parsons( also known as Unknown Coventry.   I have included all correct information and sources known to me.  I would appreciate any help including finding the name of Hugh Parson's wife.  Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you and Happy Searching!!!

Hi Ian,

You are absolutely correct about Waitstill Cook. I have removed the unsourced tag. Not sure how I missed the many sources that were there.

Sorry for any additional work this caused you.

Thanks, Susan

Hello Ian,

It was a great suprise to meet you and Stephen today. Thank you and please send my thanks to Stepen for the family history book "Roses Revisited". It has some great stories and information. There is a story on the web called "Roses From England" it states copied from "Rose Genealogy" by James Nunamaker. It stated on Page 1 of John Rose "he met, courted and married a Miss Stevens, whose first name is not known. The couple then settled in Gallia county. There, on Dirty Face {Creek} theri three sons wer born to them. Israell was born in 1809 and Bird and Jason Matthew were born later. No further information concerning John or Bird and Jason Matthew has been found. Presumably they lived out their llives in Ohio." The book has given me the real story. Thank you again.
