Biography

from genealogy received from Bill MacDonald, Surrey, B.C., it appears Ann (McLellan) McGillivray, was the daughter of Sarah (McGillivray) McLellan and the wife of John John McGillivray; in other words, Ann's mother Sarah was a McGillivray before marriage and Ann became married to a McGillivray. - revising place of death; 1921 census shows ann residing at Bailey's Brook, age 69; head of household, her son, Hugh Angus McLellan McGillivray, my maternal grandfather; Bailey's Brook was likely the place of death for Ann. - Ann married at age 22 to John John; marriage register places Ann at Broad Cove, but her father, Angus McLellan, later relocated to South Side Harbour, Antigonish Co., as he shows up there at the 1881 census

Sources

according to Canada census of 1921, the household of her son, Hugh Angus McGillivray, included his mother, Annie (McLellan) McGillivray, who was age 69; my maternal grandfather, Hugh Angus, was age 36; his wife, Catherine Sarah (MacDonald) McGillivray, was age 36; household also included Ronald D. Fitzgerald, whose mother , Margaret L. (McGillivray) Fitzgerald, was a sister of Hughie; Margaret L. McGillivray Fitzgerald passed away at a younger age and Ronnie was brought up by Hughie and Catherine; the household also included Roderick A.
