An online note discusses this family as follows: "Many online genealogies claim that Rebecca, wife of John Duncan, is the daughter of Jeremiah Meacham and Rebecca Hawkins. This appears to be false as Rebecca's son John Duncan was baptized 3 months prior to the marriage of Rebecca Meacham to John Larkin in 1769.[1] Other children by Rebecca and her husband John Duncan were baptized after the marriage of Rebecca Meacham to John Larkin. So the parentage of this Rebecca remains unknown."[2]
She married, in Oct 1769 at New Salem,MA, John Larkin (New Salem VR). Either she later remarried to a man named John Duncan, as indicated on her stone, or Larkin is a misread of vital records for "Duncan". John Duncan was born on Sep 4,1740, a son of Daniel Duncan (b.1711/2) and Sarah (Rice) Duncan.[2]
There was a child, Lucretia born to John and Rebecca Dunkin , baptized on 12 May 1776 in New Salem.[3][4]
