It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Mary by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Mary:
One of my problems here is that Mary has a sister named Mary. The Find-a-Grave reference for that Mary is obviously this Mary. Their death dates are the same day of the month, same year, but different months. Looking at THAT Mary, I can't find any proof that she existed other than Mead's reference to her as the second wife of Benjamin Close.

I'm re-initiating this merge in an attempt to delete the profile currently represented by Mead-49. The profile manager currently there (she may remove herself shortly) admits that this may have been an accidental duplicate she created. Merging her with your Mary Mead will give you a lower-numbered ID while still retaining all the content from Mead-158. Thank you for your support in merging away duplicate profiles.
Helen, we're trying to make sure there are no empty profiles. This one has no dates whatsoever, and no relationship to anyone else. Can you please add details to her profile and preferably connect her with other family members? Thank you so much.
