George David Mead was born on October 11, 1866 in Ontario Canada.
He passed away on December 16, 1916, at the age of 50, in Creston, Central Kootenay Regional District, British Columbia, Canada, and was buried in the Pioneer Cemetery.
Note: VICTUM OF FATALITY---The creston Review in its issue of December 22, 1916, records the death at that town as the results of an accident of Mr. George Mead, who at one time was a resident of Victoria. The unfortunate man, who was an employee of the Crdston Hotel, was examining a gasoline tank, with the idea of discovering aleak, when it exploded and killed him instantly. He wasa native of Toronto, where he was orn in 1866. Prior to the Klondike boom he had resided at Victoria and other points on the Coast. He went north with the big rush of men during the boom and worked in the gold camps there. Some few years ago he located at Creston. Deceased was married in Victoria in 1892 to Miss Lottie Buss, and is survived by his widow and one son, George, who is with the Imperial Bank at Fernie.[1]
