Biography

Priscilla was born in 1820. She was the daughter of Daniel Mead and Priscilla Perry.

She married Levi D. Tryon on 1 Aug 1843. Together they had 3 children:

1. George H Tryon 26 Nov 1844 m. Adelaide Hathaway
2. Mary E. Tryon 09 Jan 1848 m. H. T. Mouner
3. Mead Tryon 10 Jun 1851

She passed away 1892.

Priscilla is mentioned in her father's Probate: 8 Oct 1867-In the matter of the distribution of the personal estate of Daniel L. Mead, deceased- The accounts of William D. Mead, administrator of all and singulars the goods, chattels and credits of Daniel L. Mead, late of the town of Caroline in the county of Tompkins, deceased, having been filed and a summary statement as finally settled and allowed by the Surrogate hearing, and above herewith recorded by which it appears sums in the hands of said administrator undistributed, the sum of $533.57, It is ordered that the same be distributed as follows:

To Mary Mead, Widow $177.86; William D. Mead, son, of Catin, Steuben Co., NY 32.33 1/2; David P. Mead, son, of Caroline, NY 32.33 1/2; Benjamin F. Mead, son, of Caroline, NY 32.33 1/2; Joseph W. Mead, son, of Adamsville, Ohio 32.33 1/2; Ezra L. Mead, son of Addison, NY 32.33 1/2; George M. Mead, son, of Ech, Genesee Co., MI 32.33 1/2; Charles C. Priscilla was born about 1822. She married Levi Tryon and they had children George, Mary, and Meade. She and Levi are not seen after the 1870 census.

She died in very late April or early May, 1892. "Mrs. Rev. L. D. Tryon, wife of Rev. L. D. Tryon, deceased, a former member of the Wyoming Conference, died at her home in Honesdale last week, aged seventy-two years. Mr. Tryon was pastor of the Honesdale Methodist church in 1856."^[2] "—Mrs. Priscilla G., widow of the late Rev. L. D. Tryon, died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. H. T. Menner, on Tuesday night at the age of seventy-two years. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Menner, a son George, the well known contractor of Carbondale, and son Meade, who has for years been in the service of the Erie in this town. The funeral takes place at 3 p.m. to-day. A More extended obituary notice will appear in a later issue."^[3]
