Biography
Thomas was born about 1853. [1]
The July 18, 1860 census shows him at age 7 living in Pequannock (Boonton P.O.), New Jersey with his father Francis, 32, mother Johanna, 31, and siblings Bridget, 5, Patrick, 3, and Francis Jr., 8 months.[2]
The July 20, 1870 census shows Thomas, 16, living with his father Francis, 45, and mother Johanna, 43, and siblings Bridget, 15, Patrick, 13, Francis, 10, Catherine, 8, and Ambrose, 4, in Boonton, New Jersey. He and Bridget are clerking in his father's store. Both his father and mother are listed as born in Ireland and all the children in New Jersey.[3]
He married Margaret Trimblett April 15, 1874 in Jersey City, New Jersey.[4]
The June 23, 1880 census shows Thomas, 26, a saloon keeper, living in Boonton with his wife Margaret, 26, and his children Francis, 5, Mary Alice., 4, and Cornelia, 2. His sister Bridget Cunningham, 24, now married, is listed as visiting. Wife Margaret's parents are listed as being born in England.[5]
He passed away July 11, 1884. He had lived in New Jersey for 30 years.[1]
