Biography

Elizabeth was born about 1810 in Cumberland County, Virginia. [1] Her parents were James Meador and Frances Anderson. [2]

About the year 1828, probably in Cumberland County, Elizabeth married Thomas Anderson. [3] They were the parents of five children. These children were Richard, Martha, John, Shirley and Egbert. [4]

On 18 November 1843 in Cumberland County, Elizabeth married as her second husband Lawrence Anderson. [5] On 26 November 1849 in Cumberland County court, Lawrence was appointed guardian for the five orphans of Thomas Anderson. [6]

Lawrence and Elizabeth appear in Cumberland County census records for 1850. Their household includes the five children from Elizabeth's first marriage as well as two daughters born to Elizabeth and Lawrence. [7] Lawrence and Elizabeth were still living in Cumberland County when the 1860 census was taken. Their household now includes the three children born to them, Mary, Sarah, and Caleb, along with Elizabeth's unmarried daughter Martha. [8]

Elizabeth died on 22 June 1866 in Cumberland County, Virginia. [9] Her burial place is unknown.
