Biography

Velva Glanadeen Hedrick, 84, of Linton and formerly of Bloomington, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at the Alzheimer's Unit of Glenburn Home in Linton.

Born Dec. 1, 1918 in Monroe County, she was the daughter of the Rev. Larue M. and Ada Elizabeth (Miller) Meadows.

She was retired from Bloomington Hospital where she was a dietary aide. She graduated from Bloomington High School in 1937. She was a member of Sanders United Pentecostal Church and attended Bible Way Church in Linton.

Survivors include her husband, William "Bill" Hedrick of Linton; one daughter, Carolyn "Susie" Sue Hedrick Utterback of Linton; two brothers, Armel Meadows of Bloomington and Donald "Leroy" Meadows of Naples Fla.; four grandchildren, Robin Vandeventer of Linton, Keithetta Mauder of Bloomington, William "Bill" Utterback of Bloomfield and Robert "Bob" Utterback of Lexington, Tenn.; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Avanelle (Meadows) Hillenburg; one brother, Billy Meadows; and a son-in-law, the Rev. Robert Utterback.

Funeral service will be at Sanders United Pentecostal Church at 2 p.m. on Thursday with Bros. Joe Nelson, Don Evans and Vandy Pope officiating. Burial will follow in Knightridge Cemetery.^[1][2]
