Edward Leroy Meadows Sr., Woodland Ave., Thurmont, Md., died Friday, Oct. 10, at the University Hospital Shock Trauma Unit, Baltimore. He was the husband of Margaret Louise Zentz Meadows. Born in Petersville, Ky., he was the son of Clara Kegley Meadows Conley and the late Roy Leland Meadows. He was a member of Elias Lutheran Church, Emmitsburg, Md., the Masonic Trogian Lodge 205 A F and AM, the Frederick County Farm Bureau, the Emmitsburg Grange, and a director of the Thurmont Coop. Before retiring he was self-employeed as a farmer. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by one son, Edward L. Meadows Jr. of Keymar, Md.; three daughters, Joyce Bruchey and Wanda Valentine, both of Keymar, and Lois Trot of Thurmont; eight grandchildren; one brother, Charles Meadows, Greensburg, Ind.; three sisters, Pauline Stambaugh of Rocky Ridge, Md., Doris Marshall of Maysville, Ky., and Thelma Ward of Maysville, Ky.; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesay from Elias Lutheran Church, Emmitsburg. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick, Md. Friends may call at Stauffers Golden Rule Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont, Md., from 9 a.m to 9 p.m. Tuesday; the family receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Masonic services will be held at the funeral home at 8 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorial contributions can be made to Elias Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 465, Emmitsburg, Md., 21727.
