Josiah N. Meads
RED LION, May 1.
Josiah (Jess) N. Meads, a former resident ot Red Lion, who lived at 117 East Vaughn street, Kingston, Pa., died early last Thursday morning in St. Mary's hospital, Scranton, Pa. He was 52 years old. Mr. Meads was stricken while at work in the Luzerne Cigar company plant, Taylor, Pa. He was born in Windsor and lived in Red Lion for some time. Before moving to Taylor, he was employed for seven years by the General Cigar company. Forty Fort, Pa. He was a veteran of World War I. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Thomas Meads, a student at Syracuse University and Sergeant Morton Meads, Army Air Forces, Manila, P. I.; his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Meads, Lancaster, and two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Deitz, Red Lion, and, Mrs. Cordie Martin, Pittsburgh. Funeral services were held. Monday afternoon in Kingston with the Rev. Samuel J. Truscott of Dorranceton Methodist church, officiating. Interment was in the Forty Fort cemetery.[1]
Note that Forty Fort Cemetery was mostly destroyed in the floods that accompanied Hurricane Agnes.
