Biography
Richard was born on 19 September 1819 in Wales.[1]
He traveled to Western Australia with his parents on the Gilmore, arriving on 15 December 1829.[1]
- MARRIED. At the York Church, on the 14th instant, by the Rev. James Brown, M.A., RICHARD GAMBLE BOYCE MEARES, second son of Cap-tain Meares, late of the 2nd Life Guards and now Government Resident at York, Western Australia, to EMMA AMELIA WRIGHT, eldest daughter of the late Mr. Richard Edmond Wright, Farmer, Western Australia.[2]
By 1858 Richard was a mill owner, and in 1867 he was an auctioneer. [1] His household was recorded in the 1859 Census, his profession recorded as merchant.[3]
