Richard Mede was born about 1440, the son of Philip Mead and his wife, Isabel Ricard. [1]
His arms were Gules a chevron ermine between three trefoils argent.[2]
He married firstly Elizabeth Sharpe, daughter of John Sharpe and granddaughter of John Sharpe, merchant of Bristol. [3][4]
His second wife was Anne Pauncefoot, daughter of Thomas Pauncefort and his wife, Margaret Swynford. [5][6][7] Note that another version of the Visitation names her as daughter of Henry Pauncefoot and his third wife, Katherin, [8] but in his will, Richard says she is the daughter of Thomas Pauncefot of Hassefeld, Glos, esquire.
Richard passed away in 1491. His children having all died young his heir was his sister, Isabel, wife of Sir Maurice Berkeley. [9]
