María Candelaria was born and married in a time when some church records, for various reasons, just aren't available.
I have searched through the Santa Cruz baptism records for both Medina and Martín but found nothing. The baptism records for Santa Cruz prior to 1731 were found on loose sheets, sometimes with no dates and with many pages missing.
Their marriage record should be in the Santa Cruz Marriage Book. I checked and found nothing under Vigil, Montes Vigil with all the many spelling alternatives, and Medina. I still need to check Martín, her possible mother's maiden name in case she chose to use her mother's name when she married. If the families didn't approve, they may have gone to one of the Pueblo Missons to marry so other locations still need to be checked.
