Mary, I am not a family member, but I did find a few sources to add to Henry C Meek's profile. They show him widowed in 1910, and your father lives with him. Same in 1920. In 1930, Jimmie was head of family, and Henry was still with him.

Hi!

Congratulations, you've been a WikiTree member for a month! We're glad you're here. A few tips to help you dive in even deeper:

Check out Beyond the Basics of WikiTree for a guide on some of our more advanced features such as Projects, Categories, and Merging.

We're very active on our social sites and we have an excellent blog where you'll find our monthly newsletter as well as tips, interviews with our members and guest posts from others in the genealogy community.

And we're always looking for volunteers to assist in different ways.

As always, I'm here to help if you have any questions!

Hello Mary,

I hope you're enjoying WikiTree.

Our vision is to build a collaborative tree. Be sure to look for Duplicates before adding a profile, and always include Sources for your information.

The Help Index covers topics you may have questions about.

Our G2G Forum is where many of our generous members help each other out.

Visit our "Weekend Chat". Say hello, introduce yourself and see what other members are up to right now! http://www.wikitree.com/g2g/161703/weekend-chat-all-members-are-invited-3-4-july-2015

Of course, I'm here to help in any way I’m able.

P.S. I've found the best way to research my family in WikiTree is to post what I know and connect to existing profiles when I find them.

If you are new to WikiTree or to genealogy, you might find Intro to WikiTree and Cyndi's List helpful.

I found the learning curve fairly steep at WikiTree, but it goes fast. The more you play, the easier it gets, and the WikiTree community is wonderfully supportive.

Cheers, Liz

Hi again!

Thanks for the messages - I just confirmed you as a member (once you sign the Honor Code, you’ll be a full member – aka a Wiki Genealogist). An important aspect of WikiTree is providing sources for information (even if it’s just "Aunt Louisa told me in 1984...") – my profile page has a link to Sources Resources, where I’ve tried to provide an overview of source information.

Give G2G or me a holler if you get stuck on anything, and thank you for joining our collaborative tree. Remember that our mission is to build a global tree with just one profile per person, so please look for duplicates before adding a profile.

Enjoy!

Hi Mary! You don't have to volunteer to look around. Assuming one of their names was Meek - check out the surname index for Meek. I've found the best way to research my family in WikiTree is to post what I know and connect to existing profiles when I find them. If you want to go that route, let me know & I'll confirm you as a member so you can get started creating profiles for your parents & grands.

Cheers, Liz
