Jemima Meek was born on (26 March 1796 or 26 March 1799[1])[2][3] in West Liberty, Brooke County, Virginia, United States[2][3]. She was LIKELY the daughter of Lieutenant Isaac John Meek[1] and Rachel Hedges[1] (Married 31 January 1792 by James Hughs V.D. M., license issued 27 January 1792 Ohio County, Virginia, United States[4]). [Note: The area known as Ohio Co, Virginia was located in a small area between Pennsylvania and Ohio. It is now the panhandle of West Virginia. Many of the families that were early settlers of SW Pennsylvania migrated the short distance to east central Ohio. Brooke County was formed in 1797 from part of Ohio County.[5]]

Find A Grave: Memorial #32816145 [Includes two tombstone photographs which are quite difficult to read but which appear to have a consistent and full date of death and a detailed age at death which supports her date of birth; a biography stating both husbands in order along with all children; and links to the memorials of both of her husbands and 4 of her children with her second husband Nathan Johnson.]
http://meekgenealogy.com/Group_B/B25_001.htm#P328 - This link has quite a lineage and lots of siblings listed but is VERY MUCH unsourced (and acknowledges this fact). It does agree with the DOB (exact), DOD (off 10 days but agrees on location) and marriages to Cornelius Howard (exact date) and Nathan Johnson (matches the unsourced and likely incorrect marriage date). It may well have been the source of other information included in this biography that is currently unsourced.
